Pros: Blade Material, Handle Feel, Weight, Handle Material, None
Cons: Lock Ease of Use, Ease of Opening, Overall Quality
They don't make them like they used to
I carried one of these 20 years ago and really enjoyed the quality of that little knife. It disappeared on a camping trip and I've really missed it, but wanted to wait until I could get another one with white micarta scales. I was very disappointed at the overall finish of the new one. There were innumerable places where edges were saw-toothed instead of carefully smoothed, and the shape, while nicely rounded compared to the flat profile of the older knife, just didn't communicate the quality that I've come to expect of Al Mar. After thinking it over, I decided to do some smoothing myself and keep the knife, but I find myself thinking "if only Benchmade produced this knife..."
