Description
AM5HDBT: 5HDBT Eagle HD Heavy Duty
Al Mar Knives

The Al Mar Eagle has always been a great and full sized folding lockback pocketknife. The slim profile makes it easy to carry. This heavy duty model is actually thinner than the lightweight Micarta ones and it's also still very lightweight. The G10 handles are very thin and rest on full stainless liners. The top quality Japanese manufacturing shows through in every aspect. The pocket clip is reversible to the other side of the handle. We like this model and think a lot of Al Mar enthusiasts will see its value. These are all made in the Moki factory in Japan - one of the finest quality makers in the world.

More from Al Mar: Eagle Heavy Duty Introducing our Eagle Heavy Duty model. Built for the individual that carries the Eagle Ultralight for their "EDC" and wished they could have a tougher version with the same features as our SERE 2000. Well here it is, the all new Eagle "HD" Heavy Duty. The "HD" weighs in at only one ounce more than the Ultralight version, it has skeleton-ized heat treated 400 series stainless steel liners , G-10 scales, adjustable action, dual thumstuds and our reversible/removable pocket clip system which attaches through the lanyard hole. Just as the Eagle Ultralight is very easy to carry and disappears in your pocket, so does the Eagle Heavy Duty. We took the same great profile and slim design and added strength and features. The Eagle Heavy Duty - it will be your next favorite "EDC" or "Every Day Carry" knife.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Pocket Clip, Handle Feel, Handle Material, Blade Material, Weight, Ease of Opening, Overall Quality
Cons: None
Great knife
This is another great knife from Al Mar knife co. Al Mar was a former Green Beret and his knives and styles are unique. I have owned several and they have always been of the highest quality. This is a great lightweight slicer. I like the steel, stays sharp and easy to sharpen- I prefer it over my sebenza's S35V. G10 very grippy. Blade thin- one of the reasons it is so lightweight- use it like it was intended and there should be no problem. Great edc. Would like to try one of the new laminated blades in this model. Knifecenter service excellent.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, None
Cons: Ease of Opening, Handle Material, Lock Ease of Use, Overall Quality
Nice looking, but....
The blade did not center in the bolster. The handle was rough to the point of being uncomfortable. The back corner of the blade, which is very sharp, catches my index finger when opening it with one hand. Overall, a disappointment. I returned it.

Great producy, great service
This will become my new workbench knife. The design, quality and over-all value of this knife is outstanding—as always with Al Mar products. I haven't found any downsides. The service from KnifeCenter also outstanding.
