Description
AM5HDETZL: 5HDET-ZL Eagle HD Heavy Duty ZDP-189
Al Mar Knives

A really great knife with the super hard ZDP189 carbon steel blade. The Eagle is an amazingly large yet lightweight folder that's very popular as an EDC knife. Now it can be a collection queen with earth brown G10 and laminated ZDP-189 steel. The Al Mar Eagle has always been a great and full sized folding lockback pocketknife. The slim profile makes it easy to carry. This heavy duty model is actually thinner than the lightweight Micarta ones and it's also still very lightweight. The G10 handles are very thin and rest on full stainless liners. The top quality Japanese manufacturing shows through in every aspect. The pocket clip is reversible to the other side of the handle. We like this model and think a lot of Al Mar enthusiasts will see its value. These are all made in the Moki factory in Japan - one of the finest quality makers in the world.

Introducing the Eagle Heavy Duty model. Built for the individual that carries the Eagle Ultralight for their "EDC" and wished they could have a tougher version with the same features as the SERE 2000. Well here it is, the all new Eagle "HD" Heavy Duty. The "HD" weighs in at only one ounce more than the Ultralight version, it has skeleton-ized heat treated 400 series stainless steel liners , G10 scales, adjustable action, dual thumstuds and a reversible/removable pocket clip system which attaches through the lanyard hole. Just as the Eagle Ultralight is very easy to carry and disappears in your pocket, so does the Eagle Heavy Duty. Al Mar took the same great profile and slim design and added strength and features. The Eagle Heavy Duty - it will be your next favorite "EDC" or "Every Day Carry" knife. This wonderful knife has earth brown G10 handles and laminated ZDP-189 steel which is among the best in the industry for edge retention.

Love it
My first knife purchase of this level of quality and I was not disappointed. It was shave sharp out of the box, opening was a little gritty until I put a drop of oil on it then it was great. I am digging Al Mar knives.

Al Mar Eagle Evolved
I've owned two other Al Mar Eagles: a classic with the regular blade (lost) and a laminated VG-10 Ultralight Talon (gave to wife). This Eagle is the perfect combination of both, and laminated ZDP-189 "ain't" so bad.
