AMS2KB: SERE 2000, Black Blade
Al Mar Knives

The SERE 2000 is world renown as one of the strongest tactical folders in existence. Originally designed by Al Mar and Colonel Nick Rowe in the early 1980’s for the U.S. Army’s SERE school, today’s updated models are stronger, lighter and the most precision versions we’ve ever made. Available in satin finished VG-10 (S2K) or matte black with our new ceramic coating – the most corrosion and scratch resistant finish we’ve found. The SERE 2000 features pillar construction, flow through design, dual thumbstuds and our reversible Deep Pocket Clip for discrete carry and delivers the kind of performance you need in the real world.

Cons: Lock Type, None
Another great Al Mar
I added the SERE 2000 to my collection of folders...mostly tactical. I have quite a few Al Mars, and the quality is exceptional. A great fact about this one is that along with it's strong construction and strong blade, based on its intended purpose, the size, blade length, and weight allow it to be very comfortable for daily carry. I favor tacticals that have the pocket clip on the end for deep carry and going unnoticed. This knife carries much like my SOG Visionary very similar in size, and it's construction and blade are even better in my oponion, a great knife! My only complaint is that I would prefer a different locking system, but I knew that when I bought it.

Hold on now,,,,!
At this price are you kidding, check out the Spyderco Military or Manix2 or Manix XL. At some oint its just another liner lock, BM and Spyderco both make better value knive that will perform at least as good or better for the intended purposes, no doubt at all. Nicely done, well executed, but really, just another liner lock. Now the Eagle searies, truly unique and well worht the $. KCI rules the best prices they can give us, buy lotsof knives and enjoy them. Acid

Solid Excellence
I use one myself as a carry knife, and because of the quality of materials and solid construction, have presented several to Special Operations personnel (family and friends). The factory edge is excellent and it holds its sharpness well. Pocket clip attachment allows it to ride low in waistband for concealed carry. In short, it's a quality knife that provides dependable service without requiring a lot of time--just good common sense!
