Pros: Ease of Display, None
Cons: Overall Quality
Looks good. Feels - not as good.
Knife Center had the best price for this piece I found on the internet. Unfortunately, the Spanish manufacturer chose to use a "wood simulated plastic resin" stock that ends up giving this piece a cheap toy-like feel. Maybe the use of plastic saves money in assembly costs, but the use of "real" wood would have been a much better alternative, lending itself to a sturdier, more authentic, replica feel, than going with modern plastic materials that really take away from emulating a historic reproduction. On the other hand, the metal parts help compensate for some of this. They are very ornate, seem well crafted, and add heft the piece would otherwise be lacking. All in all, this replica is beautiful, if all you are doing is just looking at it.
