Pros: Lock Type, Lock Ease of Use, Weight, Handle Material, None
Cons: Handle Feel, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Sturdy Knife, Good Fit, Poor Finish and Grind
Pros: Lockback wharncliffe! Lightweight Fit is good, lock snaps into place securely Ground finish on blade, not satin finish Cons: Finish was poor, edges on bolster and back of blade were sharp and jabby Blade was very dull Blade grind was uneven, incomplete and poorly done (around 30 degrees per side) I wanted to like this knife. I love wharncliffe blades and liked the look of the stag in a lockback. The fit on the knife is good, but as a machinist, I would have considered this knife 85% finished. The edges on all the metal bits (bolsters, lock, back of blade) were sharp and pointy, scratching up my hands and catching on things when I put my hand in my pocket. 10 minutes with a flexible diamond pad took care of all of that. If it had just been that, then I would have made this a 4 Star review. The grind, however, was crap. It was incomplete in places (the grind did not come down to a point), the angle varied between 25-30 degrees per side, uneven along the blade and needless to say, extremely dull. Laying the edge on a calibrated flat granite, it was clear that the edge was not even straight. It took a couple hours overall just to get the blade usable, it will need a complete reprofiling in order to be usable long term. I believe now that I've put the work in, it will be a good knife. It seems sturdy and well constructed, despite the poor finishing. Once I've used it for a few months and have determined the durability of the knife and the edge retention I'll update the review.

pocket knife
This is perfect as a pocket knife. The wharncliff blade has a shape that is great for everyday tasks. The size and weight is just right to carry in the pocket. Stag handles for a great price!
