If you can only have one
This was my first Benchmade. I purchased it about 14 years ago while ordering some for some SF buddies. It is a great size, holds its edge and is almost indestructible- from anything but my son who borrowed it and lost it. Because of its smaller size I found this one halfway out of my pocket on several occasions having snagged on the seatbelt. My foolproof safety plan was to put it in my pocket and as I was getting out of the vehicle, clip it onto my pocket. I am of the LEO school who carries my knife in my left pocket because if I ever need it my right hand is going to be plenty busy. Lock my weapon in with my right hand and arrange for a meeting with the perp with my left hand filled with Benchmade Great knife

Perfect size knife
Having owned only larger Benchmade Auto knives I decided to give this a try. Turns out it is all the knife I ever need except for extended backwoods trips where poles have to be shaped after hatcheting. The mechanism is very smooth and the small serrated part of the blade is just right for snagging on rope or line to cut but leaves plenty of straight blade for filleting or the hundreds of uses you buy a knife for. The point may look fragile but was able to pry out the head of a .40 case from a chamber after a SOG had snapped its tip and a Buck just slid. This knife also fits in casual pants without dragging the pocket open or giving off its shape through even linen pants. Bloody great knife PS throw v sheath away
