BM51: 51 Morpho Bali-Song

Benchmade Knives raises the bar on Bali once more! A patented liner-sprung latch opens with a squeeze, yet locks open, too. Solid, machined slab construction is built on jeweled ti-liners. Heat-treated kicker pins keep things rockin’ hard and fast, and a practical blade shape is detailed out with a crowned blade spine. Others may get all the press, but Benchmade still owns the glory when it comes to Balis and the 51 proves it. Again.

Pros: Overall Quality, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, Handle Feel, Handle Material, Lock Type
Cons: Pocket Clip, Weight, None
Best Bali-song on the market
This is definitely the best bali on the market now. The quality of the knife is superb, the spring latch is one of a kind and doesn't get in the way of flipping, the handles are comfortable because of the g10 scales and durable because of the titanium liners. Great knife/flipper, but not perfect. The weight of the knife is fine, but could use a little more in my opinion. Another con is that there are well over 35 parts in this knife. You must be careful when disassembling it to avoid losing crucial pieces. The last nitpick I have is the pocket clip. The pocket clip is made of titanium and works really well, but it is not removable. Without the pocket clip, the pins that hold the bottom of the knife together will be too large and the handles will not stay together. For the most part the pocket clip will not get in the way and it does serve as a tool to tell you where the bite handle is. Overall: This is still the best balisong on the market for flipping in my opinion. The pros outweigh the cons by far (most of the cons are really in my opinion). Worth every penny and will last you a lifetime.

Pros: Lock Type, Pocket Clip, Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, Handle Material, Lock Ease of Use, Handle Feel, Ease of Opening, Overall Quality
Cons: Weight, None
I love this knife! I have collected and carried knives all my life, the quality of Benchmade knives is fantastic! The D-2 steel blade with a little amount of honing the edge, I can use it to shave. It's my EDC, and made me the number one fan of Benchmade, only thing I can find wrong is it's a little light for flipping but everything else makes up for it. Benchmade is the only knives I buy now.

Good blade
I have used this knife for about six months and a few days as an edc. The locking is very easy to undo since it is spring loaded, and I have only had it undue without my intentions when I dropped it on asphalt once. The handle is strong and provide good grip but not to much so you can still easily flip it (be careful if you have something slippery on your hands like orange oils though). Although I would prefer a high carbon steel blade like in an opinel, it has been very good at retaining an edge and arrived sharp enough to shave. It is very convenient to be an easy one handed open while still being a strong blade (stronger than most folding blades). I also have not needed lock tight on this balisong which is very convenient. I'm guessing this is because of the washers at the pivot points. Overall a very good blade that is worth the price, assuming you take care of it.
