A good general purpose knife...
I have both the 527 & 585 as I like the size and design. While each is similar, there are marked differences. The 527 is not an assisted-open style like the 585. But it does open smoothly and quietly. The 527 securely locks in place with no noticeable blade wobble. Out of the box, the pocket clip is tight to the point that it may require some bending on my part to more easily stow. And like my 585, the 527 is usefully sharp. Can't shave with it but then it was purchased as my everyday carry knife while on duty.

Solid knife, great size, not assisted
I upgraded to this Benchmade from an SOG Flash II. I lost the SOG in Vermont somewhere, a nice knife in its own right, but not nearly as good as this Mini-Presidio. I didn't pay enough attention before I bought this knife as I assumed it was an assisted opener. I saw youtube videos of people opening the knife and it appeared that it was assisted. It is not. But, with a little practice, you can open this knife as easily any assisted opener. This is a testament to the build quality of Benchmade. I love the Axis lock up. The clip, not so much. I took off one star because the knife is not perfect. The blade is sharp as a razor, the entire knife feels solid and has no rattling or wiggling. Now that I know the difference between an Axis and Assisted Axis (duh!) I MIGHT get the assisted someday, but this knife operates so well, I may not want to spend the extra $$ for the assist. If you're looking for a EDC knife, light, not too big, not too small... this Mini-Presidio Ultra is a GREAT choice.

Smooth as glass
There is not much to say other than I love it. It is smooth as glass, opens like greased lightening. I can wait to order another Benchmade product.
