Cons: None
Very Sharp
I cut myself on this knife! We get a lot of knives in here at and I handle most of them, but this one fooled me. Most assisted openers have a spring that gives some resistance when you start closing them. This one, however, doesn't resist until it's half closed. I moved the liner lock over and and started closing it and the blighter caught my thumb tip. Nothing serious- more a pride thing. OK, enough about me, this is a nice folder. Contoured G10 handles an a polished, deep pocket clip and a textured handle spacer looking sort of like file work make this a stylish item. It has a simplicity to it that is appealing. Spring mechanism and liner lock both stopped working
There's no need for me to write too much, because Timur J's review says everything I need to say. I love the look of this knife, but it is unreliable. My knife stays in my safe most of the time and is mostly for show and tell, so none of my experience is due to abuse. The liner lock is flimsy and does not reliably lock the blade in place. The opening mechanism has stopped working and the blade only half opens - I have to grab the blade with my other hand to get it fully open, and then it doesn't lock into place because the liner lock no longer works. It's such a shame, because this was my favorite Benchmade knife and is a great conceptual piece. It also feels great to hold. I just wish it actually worked.

Beautiful knife, but unreliable
This is my first Benchmade knife that I owned, and there are things I love about the knife, and some things that I don't. To start, the knife is a beauty. Good steel, great scales, deep carry pocket clip. Torsion bar deployment is smooth and effortless. Glass breaker tip is cool feature, although I am yet to attempt to break glass with it. Here are the cons: The torsion bar mechanism has a tiny metal bar holding everything together. God forbid you lose it when cleaning the knife, you're in trouble. No jimping anywhere on the blade, which is a matter of taste. Liner lock seems a bit whimpy. Blade play. If you tighten the pivot screw a little much, the blade will not deploy. Blade does not close centered. Here is my biggest problem with it, I don't know if anyone else had this issue but this happened to me on several occasions. When I tried to get the blade deployed in a hurry, I instictively grabbed the knife pretty hard, not death grip, but I was holding onto it with some pressure, expecting the blade to kick out with some force. The BLADE DEPLOYED HALF WAY AND STOPPED. I had literally had stopped the blade mid-deployment just by holding the knife tight. Cut my finger in the process as I was expecting the blade to be fully deployed and went to move my fingers around the scales. I find this completely unacceptable. Not to mention that the knife opened in my pocket on a number of occasions. I wouldn't trust this knife in a pinch. That's why I bought a Tenacious. This will be my carry to a fancy event where it will look nice a decoration. But I will be entrusting my work and life into something else.
