BO01BO295: Boker Plus Kwaiken Flipper Folder
Boker Plus
Slim and sharp, smooth and beautiful - an accurate description of the folding Kwaiken knife from Boker Plus. After a long time in development, this folder is a design of young knifemaker Lucas Burnley from New Mexico and a re-engineered piece of his popular fixed blade model. Burnley wanted to translate the Kwaiken's typically slim concept into a folding knife without drastically changing the proportions.

The result is a design which has fascinated us at first glance. The clear lines and the slender knife which nevertheless houses the entire blade in the closed position are absolutely unique. Whoever is expecting to find compromises in the area of ergonomics because of the slim handle should take the knife in his hands and see for themselves. The slim blade is made of AUS-8 stainless steel and deploys extremely smoothly due to the IKBS bearings. This knife is very reminiscent of the Heiho from CRKT and will definitely not disappoint.

Boker Plus Kwaiken Flipper Folder

After the success of the original Kwaiken Folder, Lucas Burnley went back to the drawing board and designed a flipper version. The enhanced feature makes the Kwaiken Flipper a must have.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Ease of Opening, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material, None
Cons: Weight, Handle Material, Overall Quality
The reason this knife gets a poor rating is that when closed, the tip of the knife protrudes above the handle and is thus exposed. This is dangerous, and I won't carry. I think I'm going to ask for a refund. On the plus side, this is a very sharp knife. The locking mechanism is solid. On the down side, this is a very heavy knife and is not comfortable in the pocket.

boker kwaiken plus
It's not the best of knives personally I prefer crkt auto lawks and 70% lockup this has a 50% lock up and fail is very easy this is one of those. Knives you get anodized and have as a good looking knife but it's perfect for self defence and concealment I just didn't like the blade steelfor the price could have been better and blade tip sticks out a good 1/8

What A Piece!
This is the pricier of two flippers I just got to experiment with using the opening system. It is really impressive. I pocket carry in a jeans watch pocket so I removed the clip. Light to carry, I have re boxed my trusty old Al Mar Eagle HD for this as my EDC. It is a tad shorter in handle and blade and slightly wider and heavier than the Eagle HD so it is a better fit for me, but the flipper opening alone is the great persuader... smooth, quiet, lightning fast... great materials, too. It isn't as sharp out of the box as I would like and the removed clip leaving a recess are my own negatives.
