BO01BO431: Boker Plus Baby Bat
Boker Plus
This is a blade that would not seem out of place in the arsenal of a certain Gotham vigilante: this is the Boker Plus Baby Bat.

The knife is a more compact version of the original Bat, which was the brain-child of South African designers Kevin and Heather Harvey. The smaller model offers the same exciting Heavinforge design, while cutting weight and bulk.

The 3-1/8" hawkbill blade is made from 440C stainless steel and is deployed via the flipper feature or dual thumbstuds. The curved design gives the blade a rather ominous and aggressive look, despite its slimmer profile. The handle features rugged G10 scales, and a good amount of jimping for grip, and a liner lock design. Clocking in at around four ounces, it’s a pretty easy carry option. There is also a reversible pocket clip for left or right tip-up carry. Overall, the Boker Plus Baby Bat is a compact off-shoot of its big brother and a good pick for those who like their knives a bit more stylistic.

Not bad, but it's not comparable to it's big brother.
I got this knife just because I have the full size Bat and love the larger one. I did read the description carefully and noted before I bought it that the steel is different. Here's my thoughts: - The curvature of the knife is not as hooked on the Baby Bat, it's more apparent when you are holding both in your hand. The curvature is not limited to the blade, but the handle as well, so the baby bat, as you can see in the photo is nearly a straight knife. - Although the bead blasted blade on the baby bat looks similar, it's not even close to the steel on the larger knife. It may be good, and I haven't had it long enough to really judge, but it's not the same quality as the knife on the full size Bat. - Even with the additional protrusion on the blade, the less aggressive feel of the retention cutouts in the grip (I know I'm not describing it well.... it's the part your index finger goes to in a blade up grip, the place your pinky would sit in a fighter's grip) in combination with the shorter size of the grip makes it far less stable. This would be especially true in a wet hands situation. - The scales on the Baby Bat are very slick and smooth, without the texture which I like on the full size. Is it a bad knife? Not at all. does it feel cheap? No. I'm am only pointing out, that it's not a mini-me of the Boker Bat, but a knife with notable differences, more "in the style" of the larger Boker Bat.
