Description
BO01BO534: Boker Plus JC1
Boker Plus

This pocket knife is dedicated to Chad Los Banos's daughter, Jacy. Similar to the ergonomics of the popular Edit model, the JC1 is a compact and durable folding knife. The short, broad blade is titanium coated, and, in conjunction with the generously sized handles, provides extremely powerful cuts. The flat design allows superior comfort. The blade is high performance 440C stainless steel, and locks securely with the frame lock mechanism. Also features sturdy G-10 handle scales and a reversible pocket clip for tip-up or tip-down carry. Blade length: 2". Overall length: 5-1/4". Weight: 3.5 oz.

Pros: Lock Ease of Use, Handle Feel, Ease of Opening
Cons: Ease of Opening, Blade Sharpness, None
Cool little knife but blunt as a butter knife
Fun little knife, locks up well. I have ease of opening as a pro and a con. Two handed opening is smooth but it could have done with a thumb stud (removable for the jurisdictions in which they are illegal?). The factory sharpening was horrible. Blunt and uneven bevels. 30 minutes on a sharpmaker and most of the blade is shaving sharp. The last 5mm at the heel has such screwed up bevels that it wasn't going to get fixed without some serious reprofiling. Get one if you can sharpen it and don't expect it sharp out the box.

Wow...
I just got my sample from Boker Germany, and I tell you, it's a great knife! It's flat in pocket, tip up or tip down option, feels like a bigger knife in hand, yet has a blade about the size of the SubCom's, so it does not make the non-knife educated people freak out when used in public. Lots of leverage for cutting! A very urban friendly knife! I designed this one with a thumb stud, but Boker left it off, probably due to their new laws. However, for the Spyderco fans who carry tip down, there's a way to open the JC1 "quick". I wish it could be carried left hand, and came with a stud. Yes, I may be biased because my daughter "designed" it, and I fine tuned it, but I've said it before, I'll say it again: I'm a knife user first, designer second. This is a good knife!!!
