BO01BO700: Boker-Matic Black
Boker Plus

High tech style.

This classic knife is just plain cool. It is not automatic opener - not a switchblade. In fact, it is the antithesis of a switchblade! It retracts automatically, but you need to manually push the blade out. Boker used to produce these in Germany, but the newer ones from Asia are actually better. Back under the Boker Plus banner, the Boker-Matic is now available with a handy pocket clip. The handle is made of fiberglass reinforced nylon, and the stainless steel blade can be retracted into the cavity with one hand. To engage the blade, you simply push the handle scale to the side and slide the push button upwards; push the scale back over to lock in place. The blade retracts with lightning-fast speed by pushing the handle scale over.

This knife is an all-around great knife - exciting to use, unique lock up, all at a low price.

Cool factor
It's just cool and very inexpensive- don't expect German quality- it's not. It is an amazing value!

Not an Every Day Carey
Personaly, I found the knife to be clumsy to open, and it will never be one of my EDC knives. I can not recommend its purchase to anyone except the collector. I gave it a 3 because it is well made and good materials.

Worth $20
Nice blade, but requires 2 hand operation. Retraction of the blade gets hung sometimes. I bought two, they both get hung. I think I can mill a part to allow for 1 handed opening, but that remains to be seen. Handle is a bit loose. Don't get it wet, internal components rust. Would not buy this version again, however one would expect improvements in this novel design. Stay tuned.
