Description
BO02BO292: Boker Plus VoxKnives Rold Black
Boker Plus

This version of the highly popular Boker Plus Rold (model 02BO272) is nearly 100% corrosion resistant. Features blasted canvas Micarta handle scales, and a corrosion resistant powder coating on the blade and tang. The massive full tang construction with mounted G-10 scales provides, in combination with the extremely tough D2 tool steel, extraordinary ruggedness with the flat grind, offering outstanding cutting capabilities. The rivet tubes not only reduce the weight of the knife, but also allow the addition of a lanyard. The additional index finger choil gives the ability to grab the handle "short" for better control in fine and precise cutting tasks, while the notched thumb ramp and the dove tail shaped handle butt maximize the control in chopping and other heavy duty chores. The very well balanced design clearly shows the long years of experience from Jesper Voxnaes regarding the demands of hunting and the outdoors. Includes a Kydex sheath.

Cons: Sheath/Scabbard
Excellent blade
This knife is one of my favorite blades. It is a large knife but it feels light and balanced in your hands. The choil allows for choking up on the blade quite nicely. I started cleaning one of three deer I shot this past hunting season with this knife, it is so comfortable and balanced that I proceeded to use it to fully butcher and bone out all three deer. The D2 does stay sharp as others have stated. It sharpens up with little trouble on my WSKO sharpener. I also like that it isn't too thick. It is nimble enough to use in the kitchen slicing vegetables and meats. Al lot of companies just put an edge on a pry bar which makes for a mediocre cutting tool. I do have to say the sheath is a bit flimsy. It works, but it isn't the best sheath. I would have paid more for a well done sheath. There are many custom sheath makers on the web. I ended up getting a new sheath. I am totally fine with this. I got a cool cross draw sheath. To the guy who says the handle is too slippery. He is nuts. The handle is smooth but not slippery. It is very comfortable and useful. I am sure that he was waving it around his living room, not hunting and performing field chores. I am very happy with this blade, especially for the price. I can use it and enjoy it without too much anxiety. This knife is a winner. Very well done! Note to Boker: Include a sheath worthy of this knife.

The knife is a good value.
This knife has so far performed in fairly rugged chopping and cutting tasks and kept a good edge. I am very satisfied with it. However I would say that a new type of Kydex sheath needs to be developed for this knife. At first this kydex sheath was so poorly formed around the knife that it got stuck in the area where the two inverted bumps are and I had to pry the knife out and then the bottom and middle part of the sheath were knocking back and forth because of looseness. Great Knife...but get a seperate sheath. I would have paid an extra $10 for a better made sheath.

Meh
I love the blade shape and heft, makes it quite useful as a camp knife. Unfortunately, it is undone by a terrible handle which is far too slippery to wield with great confidence. I wrapped it in hockeystick tape and that helped a bit, but I'm still leery when really going after something with this; the lanyard doesn't guarantee you won't get hurt by flying knife, just that you'll limit the length of the fly. The sheath is average-to-subpar; the blade doesn't really seat very cleanly or leave much confidence it'll stay seated under all conditions (speed, body contortions, etc). I end up using a bit of paracord wrapped up and around the handle to tie the blade down: workable, hardly satisfactory.
