Boker WWI German Army Trench Knife 5-5/8" Blade, Original Specs (121918)
BO121918: Trench Knife
It was 1915 when Heinrich Boker & Co. Solingen received the government order to develop a compact fighting knife that would be especially useful for trench warfare. After 90 years, we are reproducing the original knife blade out of high carbon steel with 0.75% carbon. The pronounced steel crossguard, the wood forearm handle, (designed for a firm and safe grip), and the official tang stamp are identical to the original - as is the cowhide leather sheath. On the back of the blade, each knife shows its serial number. Blade length: 5 5/8". Overall length: 10". Weight: 5.9 oz. Made in Solingen, Germany.
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to Kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
One of the older steel Capitals of the World: Solingen, Germany produces some of the best Kitchen knives and straight razors money can buy.
Carbon Steel is a term used for all non-stainless steels. These are generally more economical and easier to sharpen but may corrode if not cared for properly.
Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.
