Outdoor Life - Essential Tools For Your Outdoor Life

Our roots are in the outdoors and this is where they remain. A few years ago we returned to our roots when we moved our headquarters to Post Falls, Idaho – right in the heart of some of the finest outdoor activities in the country – hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. These products were inspired by the outdoor life that we all love and enjoy.

Hunting - The First Buck

Improving hunting performance. Hunting is where it all started over a hundred years ago and this is still the main focus for Buck. We are constantly making refinements that improve the performance of our knives and crafting new designs that allow hunters to improve performance of field dressing and skinning.

Larger sized, comfortable and durable. This hunting knife was designed with full tang construction and Alcryn® MPR rubber handles for superior performance in demanding end-use environments. The additional large integrated finger grooves and grip areas provide safety of use. The larger Bucklite MAX™ is available with both a standard drop point blade and a guthook version.

MY FAVORITE KNIFE I OWN
THIS IS MY FAVORITE KNIFE I HAVE OWNED IT SINCE SEPTEMBER 2012 I HAVE CARRIED IT IN THE WOODS EVER SINCE THE KNIFE HAS A GOOD FEEL TO IT AND IS BALANCED VERY NICE AND I REALLY LIKE THE NYLON SHEATH BECAUSE IT IS VERY EASY TO CLEAN IF IT GETS DIRTY FROM THE WOODS. THE KNIFE BLADE HOLDS A VERY GOOD EDGE AND STAYS SHARP A LONG TIME. I PROBABLEY SHARPEN IT ABOUT EIGHT DIFFERANT TIMES FROM SEPTEMBER TILL END OF JANUARY CAUSE I CARRY IT SQUIRRL HUNTING , DEER HUNTING, COYOTE HUNTING AND EVEN CARRY IT WHILE RABBIT HUNTING THIS IS THE ONLY FIXED BLADE GUT HOOK KNIFE THAT I OWN. I WOULD SUGGEST THIS KNIFE TO ANYONE WANTING A GOOD QUALITY HUNTING KNIFE.. THE BUCK BRAND IS ALL I USE AND CARRY EVERYDAY.

BUCK 679
HAD A BUCK DIAMONDBACK A 2006 PRODUCTION. I OWNED IT FROM 2008 TILL 2012 THAT KNIFE WAS CHINA MADE FROM 420J2 STEEL I ONLY USED IT FROM 2009 TILL 2011 HUNTING SEASON . GOT IT OUT IN SEPT 2012 TO SHARPEN AND IT WOULD NOT TAKE A EDGE DUE TO A BAD SPOT IN THE METAL. I CONTACTED BUCK SENT IT BACK AND TWO WEEKS LATER THEY SENT ME THE BUCK MAXLITE GUTHOOK VERSION THAT IS USA MADE AT THE POST FALLS IDAHO PLANT. NOW I HAVE OWNED THIS 679 SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2012 AND HAVE USED IT SINCE THEN EVERY YEAR HUNTING. I HAVE USED IT ON ABOUT SIX SQUIRRL''S AND TWO RABBITS. THE KNIFE HAS ALWAYS CLEANED UP WELL AND GETS VERY SHARP ALL THE TIME . I MIGHT HAVE TO SHARPEN IT ABOUT SIX OR EIGHT TIMES FROM SEPT1 TILL JANUARY 31 WHEN HUNTING SEASON ENDS. IF YOU WANT A GOOD BRAND HUNTING KNIFE GET A BUCK BRAND THEY HOLD UP VERY WELL FOR ME I HAVE BEEN A BUCK OWNER SINCE 1997

MY BUCK 679 GUT HOOK 2012 MFG DATE STAMP
I HAD THE BUCK DIAMONDBACK GUT HOOK KNIFE WITH NYLON SHEATH IT WAS A 2006 MODEL THEY ONLY MADE IT 2006-2008. GOT MINE CHRISTMAS 2008 AND USED IT THE REMAINDER OF HUNTING SEASON TILL END OF JANUARY 2009. USED IT ON A FEW SQUIRRL'S THAT DAY AND NOTHING ELSE. I WAS ABLE TO USE IT FROM JANUARY 2009 TILL DECEMBER 2011 WHEN I PUT IT AWAY DOWN STAIRS. I GOT THE KNIFE OUT AT THE END OF AUG 2012 TO SHARPEN IT UP FOR BEGINING OF HUNTING SEASON AND USING A NORMAL CORSE AND FINE SIDE BENCH STONE IT WOULD NOT TAKE A EDGE AT ALL . SO SENT IT BACK TO BUCK IN POST FALLS IDAHO WITH A LETTER SAYING WHAT WAS WRONG. TWO WEEKS LATER THEY SENT ME THE BUCK 679 MAXLITE GUT HOOK KNIFE THAT IS USA MADE. I HAVE USED THE 679 MAXLITE GUT HOOK FROM SEPT 2012 AND IT HAS NEVER CAUSED ME ANY ISSUE AT ALL. IT ALWAYS SHARPEN'S OUT VERY WELL. DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH IT GETS USED I ONLY HAVE TO SHARPEN IT UP DURING HUNTING SEASON MABE ONCE A MONTH DEPENDING ON WHAT TYPE OF GAME WE ARE HUNTING.
