Girlie Men
I'm a 64 year old Viet Nam Vet who somehow was enticed by the shaving industry's propaganda and the free razor samples regularily arriving in the mail after I got out of the service into changing from my trusty old Gillette to the new kid on the block whatever it was at the time. Of course they were hoping I'd buy more grossly over priced blades which I hardly ever did. With a full beard I had to shave a smaller area than most guys so the bladess lasted longer for me. I never did really like these clog monsters but until a couple of years ago, I kept using them. I was acting like a GIRLIE MAN till I ran onto one of my old safety razors amoung some old stuff in storage, bought a pack of Wilkinson double edge blades and have not used the GIRLIE MAN clog monster razors since. In the meantime I bought 7 more vintage Gillettes and this Mercur which I love and it has become my favorite razor. Frankly, I bought it due to it being one of the lowest priced models and was pickled tink with my purchase. So if you are still being a Girlie Man just stop it and buy the best one of these you can afford. I actually enjoy shaving now and it has become practically a hobby for me. If I did not have a vintage adjustable Gillette in good working order, Id buy a Mercur adjustable. So get yourself a good Boar Bristle Shaving Brush and some good shaving soap/cream and start enjoying shaving instead of looking on it as a chore.

acceptable for daily use, but great for several days growth
the modern multi-blade razors work great for daily use, but they are torture if you've let your beard or hair (i shave my head) grow out for more than a couple of days. this razor is the solution. it won't clog or pull hairs the way a mach3 will. the handle felt about right for shaving my head, but a little short for shaving my face. it cuts about as close as a mach3, but its not a quick or comfortable for me. I still prefer a mach3 for my face & a extreme3 for my head
