Description
CKCBR200: E.D.A. “Every Day Axe” Folding Tomahawk, Black
Combat Ready Knives

Tomahawks are trending! The knife industry has been witness to the development and introduction of dozens of different models of Tomahawks. First we saw a very nicely priced piece come from SOG, then United Cutlery followed up with a great one, more recently we’ve seen CRKT and Gerber’s rendition and we love them all! How else can it be described except that: Tomahawks are trending!

Enter the E.D.A Axe or “Every Day Axe” (as it is affectionately called) by Combat Ready Knives. This tool is a completely different take on the “Tomahawk Trend.” With this blade’s uncanny ability to fold all the way into the handle, this design will allow its user to actually carry the axe in the pocket, it even has a pocket clip to prove it!

The axe has a frame-locking handle on one side, a G-10 overlay on the other side. The blade is designed with a ‘cockscomb spine’ and a nail-nick which allows for two independent opening methods: either traditionally with the thumb or by catching the ‘cockscomb’ on fabric to rotate the blade.

The weight balance of the axe allows for strong swings and deep impacts in a compact size. The design of the handle (when gripped properly at the handle base) keeps the users hand out of the path of the closing blade.

The entire package is secured together using stainless steel chain-ring bolts; a very stout choice for this tool. The construction is minimalist in style, as they say: “with less parts in assembly, less can go wrong.”

Combat Ready Knives is dedicated to “outside the box thinking” in knife designs as well as a firm belief that knives are tools and should continuously be used as such. The momentum that the Combat Ready Knives line has and will only continue as they climb the ladder of recognition within the industry.

Pros: Handle Feel, None
Cons: Lock Ease of Use, Blade Sharpness, Overall Quality
Cool concept. Poor quality
Bad lock up due to poor tolerances. Lots of up and down play. No paperwork or warranty. I bought this as a b-day present and spent an extra 30 bucks for next day delivery. Big mistake. Buyer beware.

Pros: Handle Material, Handle Feel, Pocket Clip, None
Cons: Ease of Opening, Blade Material, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
good for novelty value
Dull out of them box, but felt solid. 5 minutes of light chopping and it started to become loose. It's a Nice concept but if them lock fails and them closes on your finger while you're chopping you'll lose a finger for sure. But for then price, I'll talk them novelty value and add it to my collection.
