Terminology

AUS-8 Steel
AUS-8 is a Japanese medium-carbon, high-chromium stainless steel. One word says it all, "balance." It offers exceptional balance between toughness, edge sharpness, and corrosion resistance. Balance provides lasting value. AUS-8 ranks among the hardest, toughest, and most rust-resistant knife alloys. It's a trusted favorite that enthusiasts prefer time and again.

Carbonitride Titanium
Carbonitride Titanium is one of the hardest surface treatments containing titanium. Harder than carbide. Harder than chrome. Our proprietary process creates a permanent molecular bond with the blade surface. Will not flake, blister, chip, or peel. A complex crystalline structure forms which protects the blade surface against wear, staining, and damage.

Bamboo

Bamboo is an environmentally sustainable organic material that regenerates itself faster than any wood. This means Camillus is preserving the environment by using a material that regenerates quickly. Bamboo handles are also moisture and stain resistant while providing a fantastic gripping surface.
Nylon Sheath
Nylon Sheath
Durable, flexible, abrasion and mildew resistant, and high strength.
Wood Handles
Wood Handles
Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.

Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
Brilliant
The knife is very well made, equivalent in quality or better than Spiderco or Mcusta. I am surprised to find this quality in a US made product: .Very stiff blade . Super sharp out of the box - will shave your arm hair easily . Very comfortable grip and not too large for my small hands. .Perfectly balanced - that amazing quality in a knife which makes it feel just right. .Very light, amazingly so for a 10" .Capable of survival knife status. . My sheath fitted ok and held knife when upside down but was only single stitched and would be a bit light for true survival status. Overall one of the best knives in my collection. Company shipped very quickly and postage to Aus was much cheaper than competitors. Excellent.

Cons: Sheath/Scabbard
Very lightweight and well balanced, it cuts well even though the knife wasnt too sharp out of the box. The sheath is the worst ive ever seen, it seems to be made of cardboard with nylon covering it up.

Half a beauty...
Let me say this at omce: The rating is ONLY for the knife, NOT the sheath. More about that later. Well, this beauty has an identity crisis. It's on the small side to be a fighter, and on the big side to be a work knife. But that does not have to be bad, since it sits rater well with my big hands. Wicked sharp out of the box, bites into wood like a wolf in a flock of sheep, wich means the grind is good. I bought it for two reasons; It looked good, and the design is borrowed (ahem...) from Benchmades Fecas Snipe, wich is one of my favorites, allthou it's a bit thin in order to be concealable. The overall finish was also good. Handle feels good, but might be a bit slippery when wet, so you better not be the nervous type. Might be solved by sanding the handle with a fine grit paper, I yet have to try. All in all I'm really pleased with it, the pros make the cons seem futile. And the sheath? Yeah, we still wonder WHAT that thing they sent with the knife was. They might as well have sent you a piece of cardboard with a picture of a sheath on it, with the instructions to cut along the dotted line. It's too big, and flimsy, and... Why am I even wearing my keyboard out trying to describe it? Short story: Buy the knife if you want a bigger working knife with a good grind and decent steel (AUS 8), but be prepared to make your own sheath for it.
