Pros: Finish, Weight, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Blade Material, None
Decent All Around Camp Knife-Convex Grind
I bought this on special for use as a utility knife while camping: clearing brush, cutting kindling, etc. For that it should do an excellent job. I tested it cutting kindling, chopping through 2" diameter branches and batoning firewood, it did quite well straight out of the box.The only complaints are that the blade nicked pretty easily and fairly deeply during it's intended use (it's sold as a camp knife) and the convex grind. It would have been nice to know it was a convex blade in advance, since factory convex blades are not common. All my other knives are not convex blades and my standard field sharpener is not suitable for sharpening this, which means adding more gear to my camping kit, learning a new sharpening method, etc.
