Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
Wood Handles
Wood Handles
Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.

Update
Update to my previous review...I was using the machete to chop a small log in moderately cold weather (40°F) and the blade snapped at the widest section. Worked great up until then.

Cons: None
Quality Machete
Very happy with this machete and it was well worth the wait. The blade is very high quality in both finish and material. The factory edge is very sharp and polished and requires no refinement. This machete is ready to go right out of the box. Has a good heft to it and feels good in the hand. Happy I went with the smaller version, the two larger ones I suspect may be a bit unwieldy but great choppers I'm sure. Handle is stout and comfortable. Have been using it for light pruning duty and it absolutely sails through branches, will be taking it camping next month to really test it out. I have concerns when it comes time to sharpen due to the hardness of the stainless. The sheath is high quality also but I've already put some cuts in the snaps taking it in and out which I imagine will become an issue later on. No lanyard hole but I'm not sure I would want this thing swinging around near me if I let go of it, so just be mindful of others around you.
