Beast of a blade
Great camp knife. Good 1070 steel. Be prepared to use a coarse fine stone to resharpen. This knife is what you make it. The handle is plain and ugly but fuctional and extremely tough. The sheath alone is worth what you pay for the the knife. Think of it as a small machete that you can dig and pry with. And its a steal under 30 bucks.

Big Brother comes home
I purchased the Rhodan, the Kumunga and had to have the Big brother of the Rhodan the Varan to complete the group. I would recommend the 3 knives to anyone for about anything you need to do. The knives come from the factory very sharp. I had to run a new edge on the blades just because no one can make a knife as sharp. Those of you with knives will understand that. The knife is very well built and seems to stand up well to about anything. I was able to mar the black finish on the back side of the knife using it as a hammer type instrument. This did not hurt the functioning of the knife it just knocked some of the black finish off. Those who wonder - yes it worked pretty good as a hammer. I had never heard of this knife brand prior to an accidental web search discovery. I would highly recommend knives from Condor Tool and knife. Once again I am not sure if I like the black finish on the blade.

Pros: Overall Quality, Blade Material, None
Cons: Handle Material
Its an excellent knife for the price.
I hunt in deep South Texas and this knife gets a lot of use. It holds an edge and it is easy to sharpen. The handle could use some hand shape to it. Overall it's a good quality knife.
