Description
CR2010KN: Crawford/Kasper Dragon
Columbia River

Bob Kasper, the late writer and combat instructor, designed the basic outline of the C/K Dragon after ten years of study into the principles of extreme in-close fighting developed by Dr. Gordon Eric Perrigard over fifty years ago. These techniques use automatic conditioned reflexes with minimal body movement. The knife is considered as part of the hand.

Bob sent his sketch to award-winning custom knifemakers Pat and Wes Crawford of Crawford Knives in West Memphis, Arkansas, who developed the handle scales. As Pat Crawford says, "This knife is all business. I hope it will become a part of Bob's legacy to the professional martial arts community."

Like its namesake, the C/K Dragon bites (with the tapered tip), claws (with the long Wharncliffe cutting edge), and strikes (with the pommel) its adversary. We at CRKT have engineered our production model to be as close as possible to the Crawford custom Dragon, which has proven popular with law enforcement and military operators.

The 4.50" full tang blade has a tapered Wharncliffe grind for great penetrating power. It is made of exceptionally tough 9Cr18MoV high-chromium stainless steel to stand up to the worst abuse.

The handle features a deep finger choil and textured G10 scales with deep diagonal grooves for optimum grip with gloved hands and under wet conditions, aided by deep friction grooves at the thumb. At the pommel, a pointed metal hammer tip is useful for window breaking and other tactical impact needs.

True to Bob Kasper's concept, this is a knife with perfect balance that truly feels like part of your hand. Mass is centered at the palm, and the tapered blade tip makes the Dragon feel like a much smaller knife.

We've designed a lightweight Kydex sheath with a patented* multi-position clip, which can be attached for vertical or horizontal carry on belts, webbing or equipment. Using the MercHarness, it can be carried comfortably under the arm. There is also a hole at the butt of the knife for a lanyard or fob.

Despite its tactical intentions, we have found that thanks to its weight, balance, grip and long precision cutting edge, the Dragon makes a very functional and versatile knife in the shop, too. Enter th

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, None
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, Materials, Overall Quality
Defective knife, sheath does not come as advertised. Don't buy.
The knife that I received had the blade tip either broken off or it was never forged properly. The fact that this made it through CRKT's quality control (if there is any) is very disappointing. Further, if you were hoping that the sheath shown in the video would be shipped with the knife, you will be very disappointed. The knife that I received does have a belt clip, but it is not the system you seen in the video. Instead it is just a standard belt attachment, which will require you to take your belt off to remove it. It does at least appear to carry in both the horizontal and vertical positions. The blade sharpness is good. The handle is sturdy and well molded with grooves for grip, but is is a bit small. If you have large hands, this will not work for you. After this I don't think I will be spending any money on CRKT knives or tools in the future.

Pros: Handle Material, Weight, Overall Quality
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
good knife
Ok, some people find the knife a little weak for some task, but it is a combat knife, is made for one reason, do not expect a screwdriver or a chopping knife because as I said before it is what it is. If you have a bigger hands, do not buy it. Is for an average size hand, small, medium or x-medium but not for a big hand. Is a good self-defense knife, ....a backup for your handgun? The sheath is ok, just ok. Is not a piece of crab as I read before, can be better, but is ok.

Pros: Handle Material, Weight, Finish
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
Nice knife
I wanted a boot dagger and liked the design so I ordered this knife. Overall I like it but this knife will not stand up to heavy use. It is light-weight however and fairly well balanced, not perfectly. Arrived with, I'd say, average sharpness for a knife right out of the box, meaning not very sharp but not dull either. The sheath is not very high quality but functional. In fact, mine has already broken and I've only had it for a month. The blade, handle, finish, and grind are satisfactory but considering the retail cost of the knife I was expecting higher quality.
