CR6865: Ignitor™ T - Titanium Nitride Blade, Black Scales, Combined Razor-Sharp & Veff Serrated Cutting Edge
Columbia River

CRKT describes this item as follows:

This series is ready to start a big bang, with OutBurst™ opening, Fire Safe™ actuation, layered G10 scales, and optional Veff™ Serrations.

We hope to ignite your passion for high-tech folders with this new knife series. That’s why we call it the Ignitor™. It raises the bar for all value-priced folders, by using premium blade steel, layered G10 scales, and patented features including assisted opening, a unique knife safety and our special serrations. We challenge you to find a knife of this quality for the money. Consider these features:

First the blade. It’s a modifed drop point design with a high hollow grind. We use premium 8Cr14MoV stainless steel. You have your choice of a Razor-Sharp edge or combination Razor-Sharp edge with our patented(1) Veff™ Serrations, which are superior for fast cutting of cord, netting and vegetation.

The frame uses our rigid InterFrame build with stainless steel liners, one locking, and layered G10 scales, textured and CNC machined to aid grip. The deep finger choil and pommel fit the hand nicely. The flat cross-section makes for comfortable in-pocket carry.

The true breakthrough is our ability to combine our patented(2) OutBurst™ assisted opening with the patent-pending(3) Fire Safe™ mechanism. When closed, the blade is safely locked by the Fire Safe pin. It cannot be opened until the safety button on the end of the thumb stud is firmly depressed and the thumb stud is nudged outward. Then the blade springs open instantly for use. Yes, this is a design for right-hand opening, but it is the best integration of folder safety and fast access that we have ever seen in a sport and work folder.

All models include a removable stainess steel clip.

Ignitor™ T. This Ignitor is offered in a tactical color scheme. The blade receives a non-reflective dark gray titanium nitride coating, which provides maximum corrosion protection. The “T" models feature black G10 scales.

So that’s the Ignitor story. Did you feel a spark? If not, get down to your favorite retailer and put one in your hand.

Pros: Handle Material, Pocket Clip, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, None
Cons: Ease of Opening
Excellent handle good blade the blade does take a bit to open.
This Columbia river Titanium bladed assisted opener could do with a bit more assistance to open. The blade is keen and despite the abuse I subject it to has kept a tolerable edge. More reports later regarding honing. The handle is excellent. When dealing with the blade using slick wet hands the texture and feel keep the blade in the operators control.

Cons:
Knife saved us
Amazing knife and still sharp after using it in a collision at sea to cut line from an eductor. Keep going and I even manage to clean it up from the rust that was starting to settle in. My favorite knife ever and the serration is great.

Cons: None
Very nice for the price
Very nice for the price. Blade is quite sharp. I found the opening mechanism a little fussy. But dexterity is not my middle name. Closing was easy. Handle is fine. A nice knife to carry for general use.
