CRKSEB25L: Large Sebenza 25
Chris Reeve Knives
Knifemaker Chris Reeve has always pursued simplicity and function. In 1987, having observed the traditional liner lock folder, he sought to strip out the complexity and reduce the locking mechanism into a single piece. The Sebenza Integral Lock was born.

Twenty-five years have passed. Virtually every year has seen small, incremental developments, improvements, changes, and every year the Sebenza has been admired, tested, and yes, copied! Ever keeping ahead of the competition, Chris has brought new concepts to the 25th Anniversary Sebenza.

The 25th Anniversary Sebenza features the sandblasted matte gray handles, typical of all Sebenzas. Comes with the microfiber cloth.
  • Large Hollow Grind Technology—the first blade to feature this new grind that blends the best of hollow and flat grinds.
  • Shaped phosphor bronze washer on the lock side brings additional stability to that side of the blade.
  • One-eighth inch ceramic ball acts as the interface between the lock bar and the blade, and doubles to drop into the detent, ensuring the blade stays in place when closed.
  • Larger perforations in the washers reduce friction, store more lubricant and offer space for small dirt particles to move away from the blade/washer interface, helping to prevent blade action from becoming "sticky".
  • 416 Heat treated stainless steel stop pin is interference fit into the lock side of the handle.
  • Asymmetrical pattern thumb serrations on a curved thumb ramp of the blade give excellent purchase.
  • At 0.140” (3.56mm), the blade is more robust blade than previous Sebenza models.
  • Blade Material: CPM S35VN Stainless Steel
  • Blade Hardness: 58-59 RC
  • Blade Length: 3.625" (92 mm)

Cons: Ease of Opening, Blade Sharpness, Lock Ease of Use, None
good knife
Having a few sebenzas, i had to get the new 25. I thunk the knife feels good in hand. My biggest complaint would be the stop pin, it needs to set just right or the blade won't close. And it often spins and is a huge pain to reopen and set stop pin with locktite. I prefer the 21s anyday.

The Ultimate EDC
I have carried this knife daily for over a year and just bought another one as a gift for my son. Everything about the knife speaks quality. Opening and closing is silky smooth, with no side to side play at all. The lock-up is very solid. The overall size, weight, thickness and blade shape are perfect for everyday chores. Edge retention is excellent, even after cutting heavy cardboard or carpet. When the edge is no longer shaving sharp, a few passes on a Spyderco Sharpmaker will set it right. I like to strop the edge on leather once a week or so to keep it in top shape. The Sebenza 25 is comfortable in the hand and rides very low in the pocket. The price is high, but the value is there. You appreciate the quality every time you use it.

Locks up like a fixed blade!
The best knife I have ever owned in terms of folders! This thing locks up like a fixed blade and there is absolutely no movement what so ever! I love the quality and overall build on this knife, it is just all superb! Great for EDC and self defense! I carry my knives mainly for self defense and this thing is perfect, great EDC as well. And sharpening it is very easy. It came to me fairly sharp out of the box, but not shaving sharp. A few passes through my spyderco sharp maker and a few strops of a regular old leather belt and this thing was shaving sharp. Very easy to maintain and use. The detent on mine is fairly tough so it takes a strong thumb to open this up initially. That may be the only con. But everything else is just perfect.
