Emergency Services Personnel take their jobs seriously so it only makes sense that they expect the same out of their tools. By taking feedback from service professionals, we took several favored designs and enhanced their performance qualities even more through materials and features geared for heavy use and tough service.

The renowned Kit Carson designed M16® knife series provides several optimum professional tool platforms from which we further developed products for your specialized needs. Whether it's the M16®-12ZE, the M16®-13ZE, or the M16®-14ZER—know that you can count on their full potential when you need it most. From the orange brightly colored reinforced glass filled nylon scales to the AutoLAWKS™ blade safety, they are ready for tough duty. All of the knives also have a tungsten carbide window breaker, seat belt cutter, and serrated edges for superior rope and fiber cutting, setting the tone as an industry standard for emergency service tools.

We think the E.R. Knives series is the best value available for daily duty carry.
  • The folders feature a seat belt cutter on the Carson Flipper, plus a removable stainless steel clip and AutoLAWKS safety.
  • We added a tungsten carbide window breaker to the folders to make it easy to shatter car side windows in one fast impact.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Lock Type, Handle Material, Overall Quality, Pocket Clip, Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material
Cons: None
i bought the crkt m16-122ze as a replacement for the benchmade 915s triage. i lost the triage. so i was looking for a replacement. this knife fits the bill. the m16-12ze is smaller and cheaper and feels well made, it will now be my edc knife. i also have a benchmade osborne 940 and a kershaw junkyard dog. the 940 i carried on the weekends and the junkyard dog i carried on my day hikes. those 2 knives will probably collect some dust as it is unlikely that i will carry them anytime soon. one minor gripe more aesthetic than practical. wish the blade was about 3/8" longer and the seatbelt cutter just a bit smaller. still like this knife and am strongly thinking about getting another in case is lose the one i currently have.

My Favorite To Carry
I think this is a great knife because: It has a glass breaker and seat belt cutter in case I need to help someone or need to get myself out of a wreck. The flipper is easy to use and provides a guard large enough to to keep your fingers from sliding onto the blade. The rough surface and circles in the grip make it easier to hold onto. The orange grips make it easier to find when I lay it down at home. The weight and size are great for carry while still providing a good size, sturdy blade.
