Description
CRM1613ZLEK: M16-13ZLEK - Kit Carson Design
Columbia River

We have produced Kit Carson's popular M16® line in many variations over the past decade. Our Zytel® version has built the largest user base of all. These knives are built for function, not fad, and they are exceptional values.

Our new M16 ZLEK line uses our very successful InterFrame construction, with tough, textured Zytel® scales over a 420J2 stainless steel liner InterFrame and solid Zytel back spacers. We assemble the handle with superior offset Torx® fasteners.

For professional use, we've added a seat belt cutter to the Carson Flipper, and a tungsten carbide window breaker at the butt. Automobile side windows shatter with one quick whack from the butt of the knife.

All components receive a tough tactical black coating. The Flipper can be pressed for fast one-hand opening, and creates a blade guard when open. We use our premium AUS 8 high-carbon stainless steel for the blades, which have Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edges to easily cut rope, cord, canvas, and vegetation.

All three models are fitted with our exclusive patented* AutoLAWKS™ safety, which automatically makes them into virtual fixed blades when the blade is opened and locked.

M16®-13ZLEK. This mid-size M16 with spear point blade is a perennial favorite, with all the trademark Kit Carson features. A black stainless steel twoposition pocket/gear clip is included.

Full professional features. Non-reflective black finish. Exceptional affordability. Kit Carson rides again.

Pros: Pocket Clip, Overall Quality, Handle Feel, Weight, Ease of Opening
Cons: None
Great knife for duty
I purchased this knife to carry on duty as a LE officer. I love the ease of access of the seat belt cutter. The knife opens quickly and is high quality. Some may find it difficult to close but I feel this makes the knife more secure in the open position. When open the seat belt cutter becomes a hand guard which makes the knife fit well in the hand. Great overall knife and was exceptionally priced at KnifeCenter (under $45 including shipping)

Pros: Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness, None
Cons: Ease of Opening
When you need it you'll wish you had it
I bought this to use as an EDC knife/rescue tool. Luckily I haven't needed to cut seat belts or break auto glass yet, but I can do that with this tool if need be. The blade can be used for everyday cutting chores and suffice for defense if you find yourself in that situation. The belt cutter is a bit awkward when clipped in my pocket and I found it difficult to open with one hand. But I do not have a strong grip. I moved the clip to the opposite side for left hand carry. You need a small Torx to do that but you can buy the Torx for a fair price.
