CS10DC: Counter Tac II
Cold Steel

It’s been observed that fashion is fleeting. What’s "in" now will soon be "out" of style. The knife industry, like any other, is subject to the same winds of political correctness and notions of popular taste. At Cold Steel, we try to stay abreast of the currents of change, but we also recognize that good design never goes out of style. The Cold Steel Tantos, Trail Master, and Voyagers illustrate this point very well.

Our Counter TAC™ boot knives were designed with this simple philosophy in mind. The full tang blades are made from beautifully polished AUS 8A Stainless steel that’s vacuum heat treated, and sub zero quenched for strength. They are hollow ground and end in a sturdy but needle sharp point that’s ideal for effortless penetration, and of course the edge is razor sharp.

The ergonomic design of the Kraton® grip is comfortable and adaptable to any fighting style, and the deeply textured surface and double guard will insure that the knife is not likely to slip from your hand under any circumstances.

Finally, each Counter TAC™ is shipped with a state of the art Secure-Ex® sheath, complete with a removable boot/belt clip and lashing slots so you can carry or conceal it just about anywhere.

Cons: Blade Sharpness, None
Counter Tac 2
I use this knife as a EDC knife for self defense purposes. High quality design. The sheath is high quality, with a locking mechanism to keep the blade from falling out of the sheath during strenuous activities. It works very well. I have no fear of ever losing the knife from it's sheath. Some people complain that they can't withdraw the knife with one hand because of the securing mechanism of the sheath. This is untrue. It requires some practice and anyone with deft hands can quickly and easily extract the knife one-handed. The Kraton grip is amazing. The blade is absolutely beautiful. Love this knife. Blade's edges are not the sharpest, but this is expected for a thrusting weapon.

Pros: Overall Quality, None
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard
Nice knife, less nice sheath
This knife is nice. The sheath is less nice. Here are the problems that I see with the sheath: 1. If you attach the sheath to your belt, then you need to have a very specific belt size; 2. If you attach the sheath to your pocket or to your pants, when you try to pull the knife out of the sheath, the clip comes off the belt and sheath remains attached to the knife; and, 3. A similar problem (as in #2) occurs if you use the neck chain. Perhaps this is my error and I am not understanding something. Any suggestions?

Pros: Handle Material, Blade Sharpness, Weight, Sheath/Scabbard
Cons: None
the blade of the knife is flat on one side and contoured on the other. I expected the blade to be contoured the same on each side. Other than that the knife is what I expected.
