CS12BT: Safe Keeper II
Cold Steel

Cold Steel describes this item as follows:

Safe Keeper Series

Here are perhaps the finest production push knives in almost 150 years. They have the cutting and piercing potential of a larger knife, but are small enough so that they can be easily attached to tactical web gear, tucked in a waistband or boot top, or even strapped to a wrist or ankle.

Safe Keeper II
Designed for the twenty first century, the Safe Keeper II is the ultimate push knife. Just the look of this knife with its wicked blade jutting out from the fist is enough to deter almost all aggressors. And, if action is necessary, the Safe Keeper's shock absorbing Kraton handle imparts devastating punching blows, yet is so secure in one's hand that it's practically impossible for even a novice to be disarmed.

Pros: Materials, Handle Material, Blade Material, Finish, Weight, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
Great knife, poor sheath
My intent was to carry the knife on duty in certain situations. Knife sheath will not hold the knife securely even in a belt carry position. I purchased 2 at the same time. Sheaths were poor for both. Would certainly be impossible to use as a neck knife. Too bad. Great knife, poor sheath construction. Wouldn't cost much to improve immensely. Disappointed in cold steel product QC. May try to improve the ability of the sheath to hold the knife securely myself with some applied heat.

Nice classic.
I bought two of these: the price was right. The quality seems just fine on these "Taiwan" models. I regret not buying the larger Safe Keeper 1 when it was still available. However, the 3.75" blade on the SK2 is probably more practical. The Krayton handle is excellent but it is a tiny bit fatter in the hand than the new Safe Maker 1 design - a con if you have small hands. The exposed steel shank, leading to the blade, is not bad but i wrapped it with string for "just in case". Intended as a self defense / last resort. Where i live its illegal to conceal carry this BUT i can, legally, carry it openly - funny how that works out. Definitely not an EDC in my case but it would be if i were a LEO or front-line Military. Kydex sheath is what it is, the pull to release is just right, and on mine the belt clip is removable if you choose to lash it. I'm very pleased with the CS SK2.
