CS16ABSJ: Natchez Bowie
Cold Steel

"Under-The Hill" was the notoriously rowdy riverfront district of Natchez, Mississippi at the beginning of the nineteenth century. So disreputable, it was seldom mentioned in the polite drawing rooms of the antebellum mansions that dotted the other side of town during the era when cotton was king.

Our Natchez Bowie was born "Under-The-Hill" and takes its pedigree from those seedy taverns and dimly lit streets. Line-bred for battle, it’s the definitive fighting Bowie. Its long blade is perfectly shaped for strength, reach and leverage, and its significant heft is flawlessly balanced, giving it unparalleled liveliness and velocity. Combine all that with its wickedly razor sharp edge and you have a knife that pierces like a dagger, cuts like a razor and chops like a cleaver!

The very best in materials and workmanship is what makes performance like this possible. The blade is made of vacuum heat-treated VG-1 San Mai III blade construction. It’s costly and difficult to fashion, but the resulting blade it yields is virtually indestructible. The handle also plays a big role in the overall performance. It has a double quillion guard, bolster, and pommel made of highly polished 300 series stainless steel and a gorgeous black linen Micarta handle. It will easily accommodate a wide variety of gripping methods while serving as a very formidable impact weapon as well.

To compliment the Natchez Bowie and to further cement its position as the quintessential fighting Bowie, it comes with a traditional black leather scabbard. Made of the finest leather, it’s beautifully stitched and reinforced with nickel-silver rivets. It also features a thick nickle-silver belt peg so you can slip it in your waistband or under your belt without fear of losing it.

King of Bowie knives
Love the hole knife including the sheath. Razorsharp and a nearly indestructible blade! Some kind of small samurai weapon. Fighter knife at its best. I am sure that the Natchez Bowie would be a great hunting knife too.

Incredible Knife BUT......
If you're a collector or over 6' tall then this would be a great knife for you. I use my knife and for me this wasn't the one. I'm 5'8 and it was just to big. The handle wasn't practial. If it got blood on it then it's very likely it would slip out of your hand. CQC with this knife for a guy my size would end up getting me killed if I was going against another experienced fighter. I sent it back and bought the 7" Recon Scout. I love that one. I bought an Ontario combat knife when I was in the Marine Corps in 91. I wanted a new knife so I research Ontario ASEK , Ka-Bar D2, SOG Seal Combat, Boker, Benchmade CKS Combat, and Cold Steel Outdoorsman. I also compaired the different types of of steel used for each of these knives and how I would be using mine. I wanted something for all climates, huting, survial and CQC. After 36 days of research I chose the 6 inch Cold Steel Outdoorsman. The only problem with Cold Steel is their sheaths. Their knives are so sharp that straps are sure to be cut off. I liked the Outdoorsman so much I bought the Bowie but like I mentioned it wasn't practical for me. I have already put my Recon Scout and Outdoorsman to some of my own tests and they've exceeded all my expiations.
