CS20PH: Outdoorsman Lite
Cold Steel

As a nod to the great success of our Pendleton Lite Hunter, we have decided to make more economical versions of our popular Tanto and Outdoorsman knives. They resemble their more expensive versions in that they feature similar blades, guards, handles, and pommels. The only significant change was the use of slightly thinner 4116 Krupp Stainless Steel blades, and the implementation of less costly materials in the handles.

The handles are made in two parts. They feature a Polypropylene guard, pommel, and core section, which totally envelopes the knives' full tangs. The core is then over-molded in a deeply checkered Kraton for a non-slip grip that's impervious to the elements and is easily cleaned with soap and water.

To carry your knives safely and conveniently in the field, we are including a pouch-style Cordura sheath complete with belt loop so it can be easily worn on the belt or tucked into your pack or tackle box.

Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Weight, Overall Quality, None
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard
Good knife
Good knife, crappy sheath. Like EXTREMELY crappy sheath lol. Like if you were planning to use this as an EDC knife, get a new sheath kind of crappy sheath. Other than that, blade is sharp and surprisingly light for its size and the handle is comfortable.

Review: +Handle materials are cheap but it feels great in hand. +Light for it's size +Very sharp and useful blade shape for utility -Steel is cheap so edge holding is not very good -Blade is pretty thin so not for heavy use -Sheath is very basic but it works

Can't beat it for the price.
First off, you have to understand what this knife is and isn't. This isn't some hardcore survival knife you are going chop down trees to build a shelter with, nor is it intended to do that. (Though it is still very tough) This is a fantastic light-medium duty camp knife. Great for food prep, fish/game cleaning/butchering, whittling sticks by the fire, making tinder etc. You know... knife stuff, not "axe stuff". 4116 Krupp steel is very good for the price, Don't let the word "stainless" fool you, this is not your cheap 440 from china. I put both this, and the Finn Bear thru a lot of use, and both held up better than expected. Keeps an edge and easy to sharpen for a stainless steel. The grip is fantastic. It has wonderful traction even when wet/bloody, and feels great in the hand. The tang extends a millimeter or two past the pommel, which shows that this is indeed a "full tang" blade. As with many Cold Steel knives, it comes very sharp out of the box. Best of all is the weight. It is so light, I forget that it is even on my belt. It makes a wonderful back up blade to stuff in a pack. The sheath is a basic pouch, that will lose a bit of it's "hold" over time. All you need to do is simply squeeze it back every once in awhile. I would also appreciate a larger belt loop, but that isn't a very big deal.
