CS29TMT: Voyager Med. Tanto Point Plain Edge
Cold Steel

Our Voyagers® are, ounce for ounce, far stronger than 99.9% of our competitor's folders. And this is a fact, not an idle boast. Each knife features precision made parts with a stiff spring and our incomparable Tri-Ad® lock mechanism which is arguably the strongest, most reliable, low maintenance lock in the world!

The thick, extra wide blades are made from Japanese AUS 8A steel and meticulously ground to a thin edge for maximum shearing potential. This thin edge also allows us to hone each blade to astounding sharpness. And, because of the high carbon content of the steel, and their near perfect heat treatment, you'll find this sharpness last a surprisingly long time.

If you like serrations, you'll really appreciate our exclusive pattern. It features groups of very small, sharply pointed teeth separated by wide, shallow arcs so it will rip smoothly yet very aggressively through a wide variety of tough fibrous materials without snagging or hanging up.

The Voyager® Series also offers all the other latest refinements in lock-back construction including lightning quick, one-handed opening, state of the art mechanical fasteners, massively oversized pivot pins that are fully adjustable and properly hardened, and dual stainless steel pocket clips for ambidextrous carry and deployment.

The Grivory handles feature 6061 heat treated aluminum liners for the utmost in strength and stiffness and are ergonomically designed to afford a wide array of grip options including the palm reinforced forward grip for which they are particularly well suited.

Grivory is unparalleled as a handle material as it is considerably stronger than Zytel® and, when deeply textured, offers a terrific non-slip grip. As an added bonus, it's impervious to moisture and won't crack, warp or shrink and remains remarkably resistant to abrasion or discoloration.

As tools these lightweight, super sharp knives are appropriate in almost any environment from hunting and camping to hiking and general utility chores. They can also readily fill specialty functions such as a boat or river knife, chute knife or police/military and survival/rescue applications.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Ease of Opening, Overall Quality, Lock Type, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material, None
Cons: Pocket Clip, Handle Material
Excellent EDC
Have not been able to put the knife to any hard use as I have just had shoulder surgery. The knife is a quality product and is not my first Cold Steel product. You get a sturdy cutting tool with a decent steel (Aus-8) at an excellent sale price. Not a fancy knife but a blue collar working man's EDC.

Pros: Overall Quality, Weight, Lock Type
Cons: Handle Feel, Pocket Clip, None
This is a good size for EDC as it's not too big or small. Perfect out of the box and still looks like new. Sharpens easily as it's not super hard but stays sharp a fair amount of time. I haven't abused it so don't know how well it would stand up to all that Survival Silliness that everyone seems to be doing nowadays (ie "batoning") Excellent price for a leftover from the old steel/model. I too have had to bend the pocket clip upwards a bit (about 1/8") to clear the grips because they were wreaking havoc with my pants, way too abrasive.

Affordable, very sturdy knife!
I am by far the least guy to even bother wanting pocket knives in his, well, pockets. This folder, however, really intrigued me with it's beautiful tanto style and it's attractive but sturdy and nearly indestructible handle. The blade is most definitely decent steel, Japanese AUS 8A is nothing to scoff at (especially for the price) and not to mention it comes razor sharp out of the box! The tri-ad lock is to be expected as one of the BEST locking mechanisms on the folder market thus far, it's stiffness can be forgiven knowing (at least in my opinion) that you have a strong knife. Now as for the handle material... Amazing. Grippy, comfortable, and great design, I don't think I could ever own a pocket knife with such a great handle. As with most peoples gripes (and as a minor con for me), the pocket clip is a bit TOO stiff, but it's definitely strong, nonetheless. Now with the lock, it's simply awesome, nothing compares. Sure, it's a bit stiff at first, but it's common sense that every knife needs to be broken in with time.
