Description
CS49HKF: 49HKF Mini Tac Kiridashi
Cold Steel

MINI TAC SERIES
Cold Steel's new generation of Mini Tac Neck Knives are astonishingly light at 3 ounces each. Because they're so lightweight, they can be comfortably worn practically 24 hours a day. With their sturdy bead chain lanyards and their rugged Secure-Ex sheaths (specially designed to snugly retain the knife while allowing a speedy draw stroke), they can be worn outside clothing and perform as a handy utility or rescue knife. They can also be carried more discreetly under a shirt or blouse, or inside a coat. They can even be used for camping or hiking as they can easily be tied or taped anywhere from a backpack to a fanny pack. Their versatility is virtually endless. Fashioned from AUS 8A stainless steel and reflecting state of the art heat treatment they are honed to a razor edge and exhibit incredible toughness for such a small knife, due in part to their full tang construction. Tough, rough, and ready for anything, they come equipped with thin high quality black G10 Griv-Ex™ Style handle scales. This feature allows them to lie flat and close against the body and provide an aggressive gripping surface. Also when these scales are combined with integral sub hilt they give the fingers of the hand incredible purchase and allow a remarkably secure grip that resists rolling or twisting.

KIRIDASHI

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Weight, Overall Quality
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
good knife, sheath too big
The knife is awesome! I love how your grip is solidly locked in when you grab the knife. The major drawback is that the sheath doesn't allow you to get locked in before you withdraw the blade. You can only get about the 2 last fingers on the knife before drawing it out, which isn't very stable. I cut my sheath with a table saw and it's better, but based on the knife design, the sheath should really terminate where the blade stops

Bought Another One
Very pleased with overall quality. I lightly touched up the edge and it is razor sharp. I also used a fine sandpaper to help the edges of the handle and it feels fine. The handle is just long enough to grasp firmly. And the blade is a good size - not too small or large. Only fault I have found is I considered this for a boot knife and the holes in the scabbard are too small for my boot shoelace tips to go through. So I bought another one and will drill the holes to make them bigger and save this one for a neck knife. And 550 Paracord is a little big for the holes too. Overall, I'm very satisfied and pleased with this knife, I think you will be too.

Excellent knife! LIghtweight, sharp, and a great trigger handle for a tight grip. I gave it to a lady friend's 18-year-old daughter both for protection and as a utility knife for her chores at their horse barn. She loves it--carries it with her all the time. I'll have to order another one pronto!
