CS62KG: Rajah II
Cold Steel®

The Kukri’s best attributes and enormous potential as a weapon and a tool have been well documented in Cold Steel's DVD’s. Cold Steel has made different variations of the Kukri over the years, some with longer blades, and some with shorter, but never, until now, have we had a version you could carry in your pocket as a folder.

The Rajah folders, designed by Andrew Demko, are big enough to approximate the feel and heft a fixed blade Kukri. Their broad, downward curved blades exhibit the best of a Kukri’s characteristics. First, their unique shape presents their thin, hollow ground edges at just the right angle so they naturally bite deep instead of bouncing or skidding off. And secondly their points are thick, wide and sharp enough to pierce even the toughest targets.

The handle has some of the contours of fixed blade Kukri’s with the addition of strategically placed curves and finger grooves. These features will facilitate 3 grip styles. One - very close to the cutting edge where you can really choke up on the handle for fine or delicate work. Two – by the middle for ordinary chores. And three – near the end or butt where you will have the most leverage and weight forward balance for heavy cutting or chopping and where you will receive maximum reach advantage.

The only suitable lock that can sustain the incredible impact forces generated by chopping strokes with a Rajah folder is the Tri-Ad™ lock. Designed specifically to take pressure off the smaller, more fragile interlocking surfaces of a rocker lock and transfer them to a uniquely positioned stop pin that will absorb and distribute these forces through the handle frame.
Carry the Rajah as you would any folder, using the clip to attach it to any reasonably sized pocket or clip it in your waistband. In an emergency all you have to do is grab it and open it in the conventional manner or snag its unique thumb plate on the edge of a pocket and snap it open.

The Rajah II is a more economical version of the Rajah I. It has a Grivory injection molded handle and steel liners for added strength.

Great EDF knife!
Wow, I am blown away by this knife! I have been carrying it everyday now for over a month. This is a serious blade that can handle nearly every task. I wanted a large knife that could be carried in a pocket vs in a sheath. Before getting the Rajah II, it seemed I always needed a bigger knife for work throughout the day. You can abuse this knife as advertised and it will perform well. I have chopped, batoned, sliced, and hammered things silly with no problems. Not to mention the obvious self defense advantage over average smaller knives. Cold Steel has hit a home run with this one. If you need a big knife for EDC, and want to conceal it (legally) without wearing it on your belt or OWB, this is the knife for you. THANKS KnifeCenter

Rajah 2, the Beast
Great piece of Kit. Have been collecting/using for 50yrs and have never seen a folding knife like this. Am off to Pacific Islands again for 6xMonths of sailing/kayaking and this will be coming as a versatile tool which am confident will hack the pace. (+ a lot of coconuts) Thanks Knife centre for excellent service (again) and Thanks to Lynn Thompson and Andrew Demko +Cold Steel Team for another well designed and made knife. Didn't realise it has full liners under grivory handles. Awesome beast. If you havn't got your hands on one yet, you are missing out on what is becoming a classic. Don't take my word for it, read the Blade Forum reviews..

RC Rajah II
This is a very large knife by any standards, and if we're talking pocket knives, it must be the largest. Let's not talk about quality because if you know Cold Steel, you already know you have the ultimate in sharpness and strength. How about utility? There isn't much this knife wouldn't do well: chop down a small tree, field dress and skin a deer, cut anything cut able with a knife, etc. I've never had to defend myself with a knife, but this thing could be a formidable weapon. I don't think it would give much ground to the famous Trail Master and might just be quicker than the heavy Bowie. It really does fit in my pants pocket, and if you know the little snag-and-open trick, it can be brought into action in a flash. I ordered this knife because I misplaced the one I had. I just didn't want to be without one. 'Nuff said.
