Description
CS88SCFD: 88SCFD Heavy Duty Sword Cane
Cold Steel

We have been intrigued with the potential of sword canes ever since Major Morris Wright used one to grievously injure Jim Bowie in their famous fight on the Vidalia Sand Bar so many years ago. There are few weapons that can be put into action faster than our sword canes. Just give the handle a firm tug and the blade will literally leap into your hand!

Heavy Duty Sword Cane - Aluminum Shaft
Our design concept for the Heavy Sword Cane was to make a cane that offered significant support, and be stylish enough so that it didn't look like a stodgy piece of medical equipment. The result is a very appealing cane with an extra strong partial crook handle made from Grivory, with a black, aluminum shaft that's 2mm thick and heat-treated for strength. The shaft is handsomely tapered and capped with a thick rubber ferrule for better traction on slick, icy sidewalks or uneven terrain. The concealed sword is easily released by a hard, quick tug on the handle to break the suction of its friction lock. It's an extremely formidable sword too, made from 1055 Carbon steel, a little over 24" in length and 5.5mm thick. It's sturdy enough for both cutting and thrusting, with one long cutting edge, a strong sharp point, and a fully sharpened back edge. It's more than enough to take down any attacker, and the heavy aluminum shaft of your cane makes a fine weak hand parrying weapon and a frightfully effective bludgeon in its own right.

THREE YEARS AND STILL TOPNOTCH!
I just wanted to update, it has been three years. Like I said before, I took the O rings off right away, put a single wrap tightly in their place of GORILLA TAPE. Still takes a yank or running start to withdraw, just as I want, because the canes have occasionally been places they may not quite have been, um, welcome, but the Glock 20 and pre-2005 Ruger Vaquero with Buffalo Bore .45 LC +P had to stay in the truck.(check THAT out, it'll stop a truck!) The draw has to be intentional, the scabbard can be a great counter or block-and I prefer the grip like a dagger, so if need be I could backslash. Still all the parts are holding up fine-and a good thrust or strike can be done with it as a blunt cane. The edge is just a breeze to touch up-nothing's as sharp as just after honing freshly. I use them all the time,I was a hit and run victim with skull fractures. I worked with inmates for yrs and was a range instructor and recovery agent, so I have need to be armed at sometimes the least places you'd think of having an encounter. If you have troubles drawing the blade, and are able, even if disabled, start wrist rolls and short curls with a weight-roll all the way to the fingertips slowly and back-you'll be there in no time! Just don't ask me how to lose the chemical smell inside the shaft-I'll just point the open end towards the opponent! Stay Safe, Stay Armed!

Sword itself is a fine product. But, upon first taking sword out of cane one of the two o-rings that keep the sword in tight came apart. Now only one o'ring to hold it in. This is a gift, wonder how long it will last.
