Description
CS97THKL: 97THKL Two Handed Katana Machete
Cold Steel

These well made and affordable machetes mimic the design of swords, but they are effective clearing tools.

Made in Cold Steel's factory in South Africa, the blade with its modern tactical Tanto point is heat treated to a tough spring temper. Sporting a black, baked-on anti-rust finish, it is tough, reliable and almost impervious to the elements.

To facilitate one or two-handed use, Cold Steel paired the full tang blade with a long extra tough injection molded polypropylene handle with a sturdy cross guard.

An excellent bushcraft tool and capable machete, this Machete is equally at home clearing brush in the wilderness and cutting Tatami Mats in your back yard.

Now, Lynn has increased the blade length of the Machete to 24", Packing even more cutting power into this super-affordable modern machete.

One of the best budget choppers around
This "machete" is great! I bought it to help keep my back yard jungle free! And it does great! Chopping vines and small tress up to about 3/4 inch! It clears brush quickly! The handle is a bit slicker than I liked so I wrapped the handle in para cord and that fixed the grip. The sheath is the only other part I wasn't 100% happy with. With out mods it only good across the back, which is good for transpiration but not getting it back in the sheath without taking it off first. The over all vale of this blade is excellent and you would be very hard pressed to find something this good at any where close to the price!

Awesome machete!!!
This is indeed a 2 handed machete! You can exert quite a force with this weapon. Whether you swing it like a bat or use it with your hands spread apart with a downward force. We took out a couple of dead trees, about 5" thick, in seconds. I have used machetes most of my life but never one like this. It doesn't have a sheath but I didn't notice I chose it that way. I would rather have one for it.

Katana /machete
Excellent for chopping things that a rational person would not, menacing burglars, and reenacting scenes from "Highlander". You will NOT use it for camping in a meaningful way. It was designed for paranoid doomsday preppers and people that like to believe zombies will attack. Until they do, you'll probably be slicing fruits in the air and stabbing the ground. FYI, it does wobble like Braveheart's sword after you cast it across the sky. The blade is made from melted cans of cat food and it was sharpened by someone pinching the edge with his fingers. The most expensive part of the blade is the glue they use for the sticker that says "Made in South Africa". Apparently, things are made in Africa. Who knew? Still the best katana/machete I ever bought.
