EC463: Pronto Manual Diamond Hone Asian Knife Sharpener 463
Chef's Choice

Incredibly Sharp...Lightning Fast!

In just seconds, you can apply a durable Asian edge to your cutlery. The Chef’sChoice Pronto Asian Model 463 is the fastest two-stage manual Santoku and Asian Style knife sharpener on the market today. Quick, affordable and easy to use, it puts a 15° razor-sharp, stronger, more durable arch-shape edge on straight edge and serrated Santoku and other double-bevel Asian style knives.

The Pronto’s Criss-Cross technology uses 100% diamond abrasive wheels that sharpen simultaneously “into” and “out of” the knife edge for a superior burr-free edge with lots of bite. Compact, easy to use and quiet, the Model 463 can be conveniently stored in a drawer. It features a “Soft Touch” handle for an easy, secure grip. Made in the U.S.A.

surprisingly good
i have always been skeptical of draw through sharpeners but my ceramic rod sharpener is at the wrong angle for the Asian knives so i took a chance on this one. i was pleasantly surprised when it took only a few minutes to get my 4 year old knives back to better than new. now a few strokes on the fine is all that is needed once in a while

Great Manual Sharpener
We have a couple of 7 inch and smaller Santoku knives. We had been using an electric Chef's Choice sharpener on them. They seemed sharp, but after using the Chef's Choice Pronto a few times, the knives are so sharp, I'm almost afraid to touch the blade. You do have to be careful to hold the blade straight up when sharpening, but besides that the sharpener is easy to use. Have only been using this for a couple weeks, so don't know about it's durability.
