i think i got scammed
does not work, i spent an hour trying to sharpen a buck knife, gave up. the end. cant be that i dont know what im doing i can sharpen to a hair shaving edge on my sharpmaker.

Great for quick touch ups on kitchen cutlery.
I've have one of these for years. It works great for quick touch ups, and that's what it's for. I don't think you could totally re-profile a blade with this, but for it's ease of use, it's a must have. I will make a sub note though, I only use it for my kitchen knives. I use a Lansky system for my pocket knives because I can get finer edge and I can choose my angle.

Easy to use and it works. . . .
Like the finishing hone I bought one of these over 15 years ago and just now needing to replace after weekly use on multiple knives. Like the finishing hone these work great as prevt. maint. for your knife, when the edge gets just a little dull make a few strokes on each steel, run it over the finishing hone and it's razor sharp. This will make knives that are fairly sharp - extremely sharp. I'd typically run my carry knives over these once a week or so with light use and hit the finishing hone almost every day or with every use. This greatly reduces the need for a traditional sharpening and only takes a few seconds to keep your edge in great shape.
