If your'e looking into buying this knife, or any Emerson, understand this, they are a tool. Every choice made by the knife maker is to that concept. The steel does not hold an edge as long as s30v, but it wont snap as easily. A dull knife is still a knife, but a broken knife is useless. 154cm is also easy to resharpen, and even though it doesnt hold as long as s30v, its not like it just goes dull with ease. The knife I got has a slightly crooked backspacer and the liners on the inside are not polished, and if thats a problem for you then this is not the knife you want. It is the most expensive of all my knives yet it is the one i auctually use the most, because thats how it was designed. The rough finish does not effect the performance of the tool and makes it cheaper to replace if something were to fail. The lockup is great, it has a break in period, especially with the black blade, but that is expected. The ergonomics are second to none, feels like it was made for my hand. The blade came razor sharp, sharper than my high end benchmade or spyderco did. Blade shape is perfect for edc because the belly allows for great cutting, just annoying to resharpen because of the varying shape. If youre worried about the chisel grind, dont. I dont see any problem with it and it helps keep a constant angle when resharpening. The g-10 is very grippy and combined with great ergo's it locks into the hand. The wave feature works great. I will most surely buy another Emerson. They are unlike any other knife ive owned.
