Description
EMMINIA100BT: Emerson mini A100 Black Plain Blade
Emerson

*Product as shown but with plain edge blade.

Emerson describes this item as follows:
If you’ve seen our catalog you know how much I like the A-100 knife. In fact I have one in my pocket right now. It is one of the oldest knife designs in my library and I could never find any way to improve it. It was done – a finished design. Anything I could add to it or change would destroy its symmetry, its grace, its simplicity. But, it could be made smaller so here is the mini version and it rocks! This is a nice pocket friendly size that is still one helluva knife when needed.

Better than expected...
Very happy with service from KnifeCenter; great communication from Tim. This knife is a sleeper. I think it's a bargain compared to other top folders I looked at in the $300-$400 range. Build quality is actually top notch. I wanted a smaller folder, non-assisted, that still fit great in my hand. The Mini A-100 is built like a tank. The texture of the G10 is perfect; all edges are smooth, it's very comfortable in hand. Bolts, screws, liners, clip, are all identical to Emerson's larger knives. Knife came from factory smooth, but I did disassemble, clean and lube. Now it's silk opening and closing. The round stud is difficult to get to, needs practice to flick it. I find it easier to use two motions; press on top of tang at top to break detent, then slide thumb to stud and open in smooth motion. Blade lock up is rock solid and the factory grind and edge are clean. All I've done, so far, is strop. I don't think these are meant to be elegant, but I think it has an understated classiness that will sustain over time.
