FM200002: Alfa Benetti Caracaras Flint Gut Hook Fixed Blade
Fremont Knives
The Caracaras Flint incorporates a gut hook on the back side of a deep bellied blade, making this a versatile hunting tool. It's a strong design with a full tang blade and nicely grooved Micarta scales. Micarta will not warp, melt, freeze or become brittle under any conditions and along with the Kydex sheath, this model is built to withstand the rigors of North American big game hunting. The generous belly and snubbed point make this tool an efficient skinner. Sharp, strong and well balanced, the Caracaras Flint is a good choice for the conscientious hunter.

Great piece of steel
At 50 I have been through many knives, mail order knives you always have to sharpen when you first get them, as I did this one. You can always tell how good a piece of steel is and how long the edge you put on it will last, by how long it takes, and how hard it is to put that first edge on. I love a blade that is hard to sharpen the first time, because after I'm done, I will spend very little time keeping it sharp. I have spent $100.00 or more on blades this good. Gently scraping the edge inside the opening of the case helps it slide in and out better while still holding securely. I won't carry folding knives because I have had one of the best lock blades made break and close on my thumb. So, that being said; This is a great knife for carrying everyday, even with gut hook, since it is just under 4", it is legal to carry in almost every state even with a shirt or jacket pulled over it.

This knife performed well while field dressing two deer,it held its sharpness very well so far! The handle fits the hand very well and gives you good control over the blade! So far I have purchased two,and my buddy has also purchased two also! I only have one draw back about the knives, that is the sheath! It snaps into very hard and the screws that hold the clip on keep coming loose that is until put medium grade locktight on them
