FT0003: Classic 3
The Morakniv Classic has been developed by Mora of Sweden for over a century, and has been utilized by generations of carpenters and wood carvers. The tradition can be explained by the knives – with their classic red wooden handle – being pleasant to work with and having just the right feel. A reliable knife that has a given place among the tools of a handcrafter. Also used to a great extent by carpenters. Has a blade of carbon steel and a handle of red ochre birch. Comes with a plastic belt sheath.
Carbon Steel Blade:
  • Knife blades of high carbon steel can be hardened to HRC 59-60 giving best possible sharpness to lowest price. Knives made from above mentioned steel grades will after some use achieve a dullish grey finish. However, this will not negatively affect the quality of the blade. On the contrary it will somewhat improve the resistance to corrosion.
  • Blade Length: 6" (152 mm)
  • Blade Steel: High Carbon Steel, 59-60HRC
  • Blade Thickness: 2.5 mm
  • Overall Length: 10.5" (267 mm)
  • Handle Material: Birch Wood
  • Weight: 4.5 oz. (128 g)
  • Made in Sweden

Carbon Steel
Carbon Steel
Carbon Steel is a term used for all non-stainless steels. These are generally more economical and easier to sharpen but may corrode if not cared for properly.
Wood Handles
Wood Handles
Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.

Pros: Materials, Handle Material, Blade Material, Finish, Weight, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, None
Holy smokes
First off 22$ can't go wrong. Out of the box chopped down some small trees next to my driveway, still razor sharp. Blade is sturdy. Wood handle is birch and very hard probably dried in an oven. No wiggle between blade and handle I expect the knife itself to last a long time. Very comfortable in the hand, and actually looks much better than the pictures the fit and finish is quite nice. Every one knows the sheath is #$@%. Very light weight.

Imported from Sweden with Love
The single sharpest knife I have ever had the pleasure of using. This is strictly a kitchen knife for me right now. Perfect size. A little cooking oil in the blade after use is all you need. If you can't handle carbon steel than why buy a knife in the first place. Be excellent to each other.
