Pros: Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Overall Quality, Pocket Clip, Ease of Opening, Lock Type, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material
Cons: Pocket Clip, None
My intentions when purchasing this knife is due to my excessive activity levels. I am wearing gym shorts almost 80% of my time. The thing about gym shorts is that most gym shorts (or atleast the ones i prefer to wear) do not have pockets. So this leaves pocket knife carrying kind of uncomfortable (having it slide on my shorts waist line and worry about cutting off/into my private areas while running and such). So I figured that a carabiner style knife would work better when ever I have a nap sack to attach it to or even attach it to my draw string. The blade is great. Though I thought it was going to be a less rounded tip (in the end it did not make that big of a difference). The opening end of the carabiner is on the handle side. One would think that the opening end of the carabiner would be on the side away from the handle (sort of like how carabiners are meant to open, on the top side of the carabiner not the bottom side). I guess this design was to help incorporate the bottle opener design, which works great. Takes a bit to get use to but not too big of an annoyance. The pocket clip, I was under the impression that it could be removed. It can not be removed. Not that big of a draw back.Despite the opening end of the carabiner and the non-removable pocket clip, this knife is amazing. I got what I expected plus so much more. considering the size when I first had it in my hand, it was very light and easy to work with. The blade opens up with very little wrist effort or with any effort at all. With that being said, no need to worry about the knife opening up on you for no reason at all. I will be honest and have utilized the pocket clip with regular pant's pockets and incorporated the carabiner as a key holder. This helps free up pocket space. The blade was sharp upon delivery and is still sharp. The people at Gerber are on their "A game" when it comes to innovative knife designs and product development. It is a great buy. I only gave it a four because of the fact that a removable pocket clip would be nice if you are only utilizing the carabiner aspect of the knife. Kind of an extra bell-and-whistle when you do not have a pocket for it to clip to (the pocket clip that is).
