Pros: Pocket Clip, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Weight, Ease of Opening, None
Cons: Ease of Opening, Lock Type
Not fot pocket carry.
Some good news and some bad. Overall, this EDC is low budget, light weight and no nonsense. First time you take it out of the box you feel like you owned the knife for a long time. Easy to open, not the sturdiest one, but suitable shape and stability for medium light work. Lock is steady in open position, just a hint of blade play sideways, thou. Clip does not bite the palm. Easy to open with one hand, really good grip and position on the thumb stud. And that's where the problems starts. The thumb stud is quite agressive and has really pointy edges, and that combined with a lock that does not keep the blade enough tight in the locked position makes the blade open really easy in your pocket, resulting in two really nicely cut holes in a pair of pants that was in no way cheap :-( On the bright side of it all, no harm was done to my friend residing between the front pockets... Phew! But close calls in that region due to the blade failing to stay closed is no fun at all. So no more pocketing the Void for me. Might possibly file the edges and sharp parts of the thumb stud down, but since I can't make the lock stronger in any easy way I will probably go for another EDC and keep this one in the tool box instead, since it after all is easy to shapen and is quite handy for work.

Cons: Blade Material, None
nice basic folder.
This is a bare-bones, as-basic-as-it-gets liner locking folder. The best attribute is the light weight. The Void is very light for a folder of average/medium size. The liner lock works well, and one hand opening is easy with the squared thumb disc on the blade spine. I really like the way Gerber mounted the pocket clip high on the butt of the knife and folded it over, so the knife really sinks deep into your pocket, for discrete carry. It's also easy to withdraw from the pocket, even though it rides nice and deep. The rubbery "grip-tape" type inserts toward the rear of the handle actually do improve the grip. This is an all around low price, lightweight every day knife. Mine came shaving sharp, and, as it's an overseas-made knife, it doesn't use a super premium blade steel. That being said; I've found that steel quality aside, if you know how to touch up a knife edge on a ceramic stick or diamond hone, it can be done quickly and easily. A good value.
