GB1517: Freehand™ - Multi-Plier®
Gerber®

Think big. Think tough. Think capable. Think versatile. Think about combining all those robust qualities into a king-of-the-road multi-tool. Think Freehand.

It's the biggest, toughest, most industrial multi-tool around. With thicker blades and a specialized industrial driver that can manhandle its way through just about anything.

We combined the functionality of our one-handed opening pliers with the convenience of outboard tools. The larger, manlier tools are easy to open with one hand—insuring that you always have one free hand.

First Truely New Pocket Tool in Years
Easy to understand. Not overengineered where you need 2 Ph.D.'s and sooth sayer to figuer it out.

Pros: Sheath/Scabbard, Materials, Overall Quality, Locking, Blade Material, None
Cons: Included Tools
Needs work.
Multi tool always near unless I'm on an airplane. Freehand blades and other components obviously solid and well made. Plier jaws and their sliding-locking mechanism take up so much of the handles' length (when the pliers are retracted) that implements directly in line with the jaws and mechanism are too short. They are very difficult (even painful) to open, even with the use of the opening assist feature, and do not have sufficient reach for their jobs. The extra-cost accessory kit can get the screwdrivers past this problem, but there is no fix for the can-opener; it's next to useless. Instructions received had little to do with Freehand.
