Pros: Lock Ease of Use, Lock Type, None
Cons: Ease of Opening
Decent knife with weak assist
This was a gift for my son. He is of age to have an assisted opening pocket knife. I have many that are assisted and put this one to shame. The locking mechanism is solid and the blade holds an edge. Finish is fine. If it accully opened without pulling the blade I would give it a better overall score.

good backup
Its Gerbers affordable line, for $15.00 you get a $15.00 knife. The assisted opening is a little stiff at the start. Have had mine for 1.5 yrs, its been reliable. Blade is done better at not getting nicks in it (jnlike my edc spyderco). But for a last ditch hasn't failed me...if it did, I wouldn't be doing this review. Would have liked a different selection of accent colors and release buttons.

I don't know what these other guys are smoking
Before considering this knife, one has to consider the price point of this knife. In the $15 range, think about any other knife you've owned. Its not gonna be a top notch quality type of thing. This knife has very good assisted open, its not as twitchy as other assisted knives I've owned, you have to be deliberate about opening it, but it works flawlessly, which makes me more comfortable with it because I don't have to worry about it opening when I don't want it to. The blade is made of cheap stainless which is my main gripe about this knife, but for the price every knife you can find will be the same crappy grade. The handle is nice and grippy, and I like the push button style lock instead of the typical frame lock. The other little detail on this knife I really like is that the clip extends all the way to the top of the frame, so that it fits deep into my pocket and doesn't stick out. Overall I would recommend this knife for the price point, it feels good in the hand and is overall a good value.
