Guardian Knives mark Gerber Gear's next foray into the tactical knife community. These well built and well designed tactical tools are smaller, more compact knives, but they provide great bang for the buck with their economical price points. When the smoke settles, the lines become clear between what is good and what is not. Guard the good.

Pros: Lock Type, Handle Material, Blade Sharpness, Pocket Clip, Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Overall Quality
Cons: Lock Type, Blade Material, None
good backup
Its Gerbers affordable line, for $15.00 you get a $15.00 knife. The assisted opening is a little stiff at the start. Have had mine for 1.5 yrs, its been reliable. Blade is done better at not getting nicks in it (jnlike my edc spyderco). But for a last ditch hasn't failed me...if it did, I wouldn't be doing this review. Would have liked a different selection of accent colors and release buttons.

I don't know what these other guys are smoking
Before considering this knife, one has to consider the price point of this knife. In the $15 range, think about any other knife you've owned. Its not gonna be a top notch quality type of thing. This knife has very good assisted open, its not as twitchy as other assisted knives I've owned, you have to be deliberate about opening it, but it works flawlessly, which makes me more comfortable with it because I don't have to worry about it opening when I don't want it to. The blade is made of cheap stainless which is my main gripe about this knife, but for the price every knife you can find will be the same crappy grade. The handle is nice and grippy, and I like the push button style lock instead of the typical frame lock. The other little detail on this knife I really like is that the clip extends all the way to the top of the frame, so that it fits deep into my pocket and doesn't stick out. Overall I would recommend this knife for the price point, it feels good in the hand and is overall a good value.

Decent. Nothing to write home about.
I have been using this knife as my EDC knife for about a week now and im about done with it. The blade came sharp which is a plus however the design and lack of assisted opening means i won't buy another, even at a low price of $10. The G10 scales feel good and they even feel a bit grippy. My main complaints is the lack of assisted opening which i believe is in big part to blame on the design itself. There is practically NO room for your thumb to push outwards without pushing downwards first killing the effect of even the slightest assisted opening the knife has. It's not bad for the price, but if you're looking for an EDC knife that will come completely open everytime look elsewhere.
