Pros: Blade Sharpness, Lock Type, Handle Material, Overall Quality, Pocket Clip, Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material
One of the best knives ever
Just a well designed and executed knife. I have a 4" Modified Wharncliffe and also this 3.5" Upswept. Both are excellent knives and blade designs, but the 3.5" seems to be a much better EDC choice. I like both blade designs equally. I am glad that I got the Wharncliffe in 4". If I was pressed to have only one of the EX04 knives, I would pick 3.5", but not sure which blade. The locking mechanism is smooth, solid, with zero blade play. The blade is 154CM, wicked sharp, and at .15" thick, sturdy. The G-Mascus in gray is as comfortable and functional as it is beautiful. The only negative, and it is minor and has been reported before, is that the tip of the "wedding cake" thumb stud is a little sharp. It mirrors the rest of the hardware when viewed straight on, but needs to be redesigned. It is acceptable when you follow the contour in the handle when opening, but if you come at it from any other angle it is sharp. I would highly recommend this knife. Definitely superior to any Benchmade I own.
