i use on knives which i probably shouldn't however it does really well. I wish it was a little longer and a litter wider for my razor.

Excellent Purchase
I use this strop for to put a bright sharp edge on my straight razors. Great length and width. I like the having the canvas backing on the one side to use first. Need some instruction on the best methods to hang the strop to get the best results. I finally used one of my golf towel hooks to hang mine from a door knob. It's just the right height, about waist high, to keep the strop from sagging and causing knicking of the leather at the end of a stroke (probably not to good for the blade either...).

Pros: Overall Quality, Durability
Cons: None
Be sure to purchase the leather dressing and the canvas cream when purchasing this strop. This is the second strop I've had in 7 years and I can really see the quality in this one. Once the dressing is applied it's ready to go. I use the sticky canvas side right after honing to remove microscopic metal particles. Then I used the leather side to put a super edge on my razor. Keeping the strop as rigid as I can, I give 30 strokes, up and down, never lifting the blade but rolling it over the back side. I never use abbrasives on my strop. I know some people swear by them but the leather is of such quality on this strop you won't need it. It produces a noticeable polished bevel that gives an effortless, smooth shave. The padded handle is nice, too.
