J42 Paddle Strop with Adjustable Tension
Strop 13" overall. 7.5" stropping surface. One side is natural leather and the other has a green finish for more abrasion. Turn handle to adjust tension. This strop is generally used on flat ground blades and not the hollow and double hollow ground razors that we offer. This is used differently as well with the edge being pushed towards the direction of movement. The green side will sharpen the edge and the leather will clean and strop it. Quality construction from Germany.

This is my favorite new sharpening tool
I love this thing. The side with abrasive on it really polishes up an edge quickly. I've never had my knives so sharp. It wasn't a straight razor but I did a pretty good job shaving with my skinner just to see if I could. I love this thing. Well built and at a great price.

Jemico strop
I've owned one of these for years and this is a replacement strop, therefore I already knew the product. I have to tell you though, that if you strop with edge leading, no matter what strop, you'll ruin the strop. Whoever wrote that copy for you is NOT a straight razor user. ALL straights are stropped with the edge trailing whether they are a wedge or double hollow ground. No exception. Hone: Edge leads Strop: Edge trails No Exceptions, .... (You asked)

Great paddle strop!
I prefer a paddle strop because I like the draw of them and feel they are better for the razor (tight, flat surface). The Jemico is a good size (not too small, not too large) and is very rewarding to use. Sturdy, functional, and well-made. I mostly use Japanese straights (kamisori), which are the perfect size for this strop and draw beautifully. My western straights like it as well! The green/chromium oxide side they say is about a 50k grit, so it's perfect for touch-ups without causing premature wear. With this strop the hones come out less than once per year. All in all, a great strop to have. And, for the price, it can't be beat. 5 stars is nearly impossible in my book, so I'd give 4.8 if I could. No complaints from me and my razors are happy with it as well.
